Condesa guide →Start on Colima in Roma Norte, cross Insurgentes on foot, and finish near the Condesa parks.
Compare the neighborhoods →Spend an hour in Parque México. Officially Parque General San Martín, the park is known for its Art Deco details, the open-air Foro Lindbergh, fountains and dog-walkers on the paths. See Parque México for how to visit.
Walk the Avenida Ámsterdam loop. The avenue follows the oval of the old Hipódromo racetrack; its planted median makes an easy, shaded circuit around the park.
Look up at the Art Deco buildings. Condesa and Hipódromo have one of Mexico City’s richest collections of 1920s–1940s apartment buildings; the Edificio Basurto on Avenida México is the best-known example.
Visit the neighborhood market. Mercado Michoacán is the local market, a contrast to the restaurants around the parks.
Stop for tacos and ice cream. Tacos Hola El Güero serves guisado tacos from clay pots, Taquería El Greco specializes in tacos árabes, and Nevería Roxy Condesa is a classic ice-cream parlor.
End the day with a drink. Baltra Bar is a small cocktail bar near the park, and Cabuya Rooftop has views from above the neighborhood.
Walk Parque México and Parque España, loop the median of Avenida Ámsterdam, look at the Art Deco buildings, visit Mercado Michoacán, and eat at its taquerías and restaurants.
